2015 4th of July Cruise

Rain did not stop the celebration at Steele Creek Marina on July 3.  Adding a tarp over the Galilean bimini and boom gave the Scouts a dry retreat for the night. July 4 started with clear skies so we set sail for a cove near Satterwhite Point. Friends from the Steele Creek Yacht Club invited us to raft up with them to share boat snacks and watch the fireworks. Following another typical afternoon thunderstorm, skies cleared again and scouts enjoyed the water. As the sun set hundreds of boaters arrived outside the cove to watch the show. The fireworks were fantastic! We spent the night anchored in the cove, avoiding all the traffic. Guys slept in the cockpit under the tarp and gals had berths in the cabin. A hot breakfast on board the next morning and we were ready for another day of sailing adventures.
